eTapestry and Firstgiving Integrate Online Event Fund Raising

Partnership brings together best-of-breed applications

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 1, 2006) - Two of the oldest Web-based fund-raising companies have teamed together to offer nonprofits seamless integration of donor databases and online event fundraising.

"Personal donor sponsorships have been an integral part of fundraising before nonprofits began using the Internet," said eTapestry CEO Jay Love. "We've brought together two great solutions that give volunteers a preferable method to interact with their donors for event fund raising, while at the same time making life easier for the people who do the day-to-day nonprofit work."

Firstgiving provides nonprofits with online fund-raising Web pages that fund-raisers personalize and e-mail to their friends and family when raising money for events. Donors link to the page to make secure online donations that are tracked on their fund-raiser's Web page.

The partnership between eTapestry and Firstgiving allows eTapestry nonprofit customers to collect the data that donors enter from the Web page as the donors make online donations. The donor information rolls seamlessly into the nonprofits’ eTapestry databases, eliminating the need for the nonprofits to duplicate the data entry and providing centralized access to reporting of event fund-raiser and donor information.

"Firstgiving and eTapestry are easy-to-use applications originally developed with the small to medium-sized organization in mind," said Firstgiving CEO Mark Sutton. "Both companies help our customers stay in budget because we charge customers based on how much volume they need. When our clients grow and succeed, so do we."

The integration, available in February, offers eTapestry customers a much-requested tool.

"We waited until we could do it right," Love said. "This partnership brings together two best-of-breed partners. It gives eTapestry an opportunity to provide a needed service from an online fund-raising pioneer that truly complements our product."
