Walker Information and eTapestry team up to offer donor loyalty services to nonprofit organizations

INDIANAPOLIS – (March 2007) In the increasingly saturated nonprofit sector, the drive to bring in donor dollars is at an all-time high. The competition for the donor dollar will only increase as more options become available for the public to donate to. As a result, Walker Information and eTapestry have formed an alliance to provide non-profit organizations more services to measure the loyalty of their donors.

eTapestry Chief Operating Officer Steve Rusche recognizes the impact these services can have on the long-term fundraising success. "Having an extremely high percentage of truly loyal donors is a positive sign for the nonprofit industry," Rusche said. "As a result, this information offers organizations a solid projection of which donors are likely to continue their support, and which ones can benefit from additional outreach to help ensure they continue their support in the future."

Through asking a series of questions, donors will be segmented into one of four loyalty segments – truly loyal, accessible, trapped, and high risk. Truly loyal donors feel very positive about the organization and will continue to support it in the future. Accessible donors feel positively about the organization but just cannot say they will support the organization in the future due to external reasons such as lack of funds or loss of a job. Trapped donors do not feel all that committed to the organization but are going to continue to support the organization. Finally, high-risk donors are not all that committed to the organization and do not plan to support the organization in the future.

This alliance has made the process of obtaining such critical loyalty information very simple, yet very powerful. eTapestry can setup the donor loyalty survey for an organization. Then, when the donor logs into the system to make a donation, they are asked to take a very short survey at the end of the transaction. After the completion of the survey, the organization will be able to view the results in real time. A quarterly report also will be produced summarizing the results for the individual organization and comparing their results to similar organizations.

Walker Information Senior Consultant Chris Woolard recognizes the potential widespread impact of this Walker Information and eTapestry alliance. "Walker and eTapestry share the same principles regarding loyalty, so it will be fascinating to apply these principles to the nonprofit sector," Woolard said.
