Loyalty Measurement Now Available to Nonprofits

INDIANAPOLIS - For the first time, nonprofit organizations will have a dynamic tool for measuring and evaluating Donor Loyalty. In a joint effort, leading research firm Walker Information and eTapestry have teamed up to provide a powerful tool built specifically for nonprofit organizations. Unlike traditional satisfaction surveys, this new tool will measure donor loyalty, which is a positive indicator of future behavior.

"We are very excited to be working with Walker Information – who is the leader in providing customer loyalty measures for fortune 500 companies – to provide a truly revolutionary tool to help nonprofits strengthen donor relationships," said Steve Rusche, Co-Founder and COO of eTapestry. "Because the Donor Loyalty service is completely integrated with an organization's eTapestry database, they can use historical data and future intentions to build a successful fundraising strategy."

Overview of the Donor Loyalty service:

Historically, nonprofits have been very good at serving those who are recipients or beneficiaries of their mission. They have typically attracted and retained a loyal employee base. However, when it came to contributors, only a small number of organizations have been successful at building a truly loyal donor base.

In addition, the number of nonprofit organizations continues to grow by roughly 100,000 each year. This would suggest that the competition for donor dollars will become even more challenging in the future.

Add to this the fact that the nonprofit sector is being evaluated and scrutinized more than ever. From accounting procedures, to resource allocation, to outcome based performance measures, nonprofit organizations must now meet the highest expectations of donors.

The most successful organizations think of their donors as "shareholders" or "investors". They understand that the relationships built with donors will have much to do with their ultimate success.

The Donor Loyalty Survey helps organizations build stronger relationships with their supporters by:

1. Providing your donors with the opportunity to give you constructive feedback on their perceptions and relationship with you. Supporters value organizations who seek their opinion.

2. Scientifically measuring your donor's loyalty by classifying them into 4 levels – Truly Loyal, Accessible, Trapped, or High Risk. This gives you the information needed to build on, or correct, a donor relationship.

3. Providing comparison reports that help you understand differences based on demographics as well as reports that give you comparisons to aggregate results for other nonprofit organizations.
